Mumps Outbreak in Adults in Los Angeles County

There is an ongoing outbreak of mumps in adults in LA County. On June 1, 2017, a health alert was distributed via the Los Angeles Health Alert Network (LAHAN) notifying providers of the outbreak.

Clinicians are encouraged to review the health alert for details about the current situation, recommended clinical action steps, as well as a brief review of the clinical presentation and recommended laboratory diagnosis of mumps.
